1. Business and clients

Describe the spa you intend to run. Replace prompts with your own information and keep a record of assumptions that still need evidence.

Business name and planning date

Name: __________________________ Date: __________________________

Your starting point

Location or proposed area; current stage; person responsible for this plan.

Clients and positioning

Who do you want to serve? What booking need or preference will you address? Why would they choose your spa?

Evidence to collect

What have you learned from prospective clients and local alternatives? Date observations and separate them from assumptions.

Initial scope

What services will you open with? Which services are outside the initial menu? What needs professional confirmation before a commitment?

2. Services and capacity

Plan appointment time, room use and staffing together. Include setup and reset time; do not assume every opening hour can be sold.

Service menu

For each service, record the price or pricing basis, total slot length, practitioner requirements and room or equipment constraints.

Booking constraints

Which services share a room, practitioner or device? How will you protect existing appointments when a walk-in or group enquiry arrives?

Client journey

Describe arrival, consultation where relevant, the appointment, checkout and room reset. Note any access or premises questions for a qualified professional.

3. Costs and assumptions

Use current quotes wherever possible. This worksheet organizes inputs; it does not calculate a complete financial forecast or establish a suitable investment.

Setup and recurring spending

Separate one-time setup spending from recurring bills. Include costs beyond equipment and products: premises, delivery, training, maintenance, software, administration and professional advice.

Cash timing

When are deposits, balances and recurring bills due? Which commitments remain if bookings are lower than expected?

Forecast review

Record expected and lower-booking assumptions. Ask your accountant to review cost classifications, owner compensation, tax, financing and cash-flow needs for your circumstances.

4. People marketing and review

Assign actions the team can complete and check. Update the plan when the menu, premises, staffing, costs or funding assumptions change.

Responsibilities

Who owns reception, scheduling, stock, staff support, bookkeeping and supplier follow-up? Record professional oversight separately where required.

First marketing activity

Audience: __________________________ Booking route: __________________________ Activity and cost limit: ________________________________________________________ Measure attended visits and relevant follow-up; keep enquiries and bookings separate.

Professional questions

List the local licensing, permitted-use, accessibility, employment, insurance, tax and service-specific questions to take to the appropriate advisers. This template is not a legal or clinical checklist.

Supporting documents

Attach current quotes, market notes, qualifications, floor plans and financial schedules needed by the intended reader. Ask lenders or investors what format and evidence they require.
