Set a price from your service costs
Enter the hourly staff cost, the treatment duration, product costs, and any other costs you want to include. Then choose the share of the selling price you want to retain after those costs.
Margin and markup are different
A margin is calculated as a percentage of your selling price. Markup is calculated as a percentage of cost. To calculate a price for a target margin, divide your cost by one minus the margin expressed as a decimal.
For example, with a cost of $65 and a target margin of 30%, the calculated selling price is $92.86. Multiplying $65 by 1.30 gives $84.50, which is a 30% markup and a margin of approximately 23.08%.
What costs should I include?
Include the staff time and products needed for the service. Add other relevant costs consistently, including any allocation of room costs or overhead you want to cover. The result only accounts for the costs you enter.
How should I use the result?
Use it as a starting point for reviewing your service prices alongside demand, capacity, and the value you provide. The calculator does not predict bookings, account for taxes, or guarantee profitability.
